A Beginner’s Guide to Playing French Roulette

As one of Southeast Asia’s most popular casino games, roulette has been a staple in many gaming establishments for decades. Many people who visit a live casino in Malaysia tend to look at roulette tables primarily because of its relatively easy gameplay. And with the rise of online gambling in Malaysia and other neighboring countries, playing roulette has become more convenient and accessible to the public.

Different variations of roulette emerged as decades passed, and one of the prevalent roulette types is French roulette. Although every roulette variation has similar technicalities, French roulette has characteristics that make it somewhat different from American and European roulette.

Here are some things that beginners must know about French Roulette.

Gameplay

The French roulette wheel is composed of 37 segments labeled from 0-36. Apart from the 0, usually colored green, the other 36 numbers are divided into black and red. The numbers are not placed in a sequence, and it also reflects in the betting area. This makes French roulette an exciting game, giving gamblers many options.

The ball will be released into the spinning wheel to start a game, and the gamblers must predict which number or color the ball will stop at. And apart from betting on single numbers, there is also an option to bet on a group of numbers or numbers that share the same properties, like even/odd, red/black, and dozens.

Bet Types

As stated, there are multiple bet types that gamblers can place their wagers on. Commonly known as inside and outside bets, these are also present in other roulette variations. The presence of advanced bets makes French roulette different, which has a different place on a French roulette betting board. This includes:

• Voisins du Zero (Neighbors of Zero) – Covers every number between 22 and 25. This is technically a combination of split and corner bets and the threesomes of the numbers.

• Le Tiers du Cylinder (Thirds of the Wheel) – This covers all numbers opposite of 0 on the wheel, which is 27-33.

• Jue Zero (Zero Game) – Covers up to six consecutive numbers beside zero on the wheel, which uses three split bets and a straight-up bet on 26.

• Orphelins (Orphans) – This covers all the numbers not covered by the other advanced French roulette bet types above.

• Finales – Here, the gamblers will bet on numbers ending in a specific digit (ex., 5, 15, 25, 35).

Conclusion

With the rising popularity of online casinos, more and more gamblers in Malaysia can play French roulette in their homes. It is relatively easy to play and is an ideal game for people who want to pass the time or earn a few extra dollars on the side.
