La Liga 23/24: The Early Favourites to Win the Season

The 93rd edition of Spain’s top football tournament will commence in a few days, and football bettors in Singapore are now excited to see which teams have the highest chance to win it all. With clubs bolstering their squads by acquiring new players, the upcoming season is looking to be a promising one, with many clubs looking to lift the trophy by the end of the year.

So, if you are looking to bet on the possible winner of La Liga, here are the current favourites to take home the title this season.

Real Madrid

The winningest club in La Liga history remains the top favourite to win next season despite finishing 2nd in the table last year. Los Blancos have 2.00 odds of winning the league (as of writing), thanks to an overall solid lineup led by Vinicius Junior and Luke Modric. The team will look to bounce back from quite a disappointing 22/23 campaign, hoping to win their 36th trophy and bring the title back to Santiago Bernabéau.

Despite losing reigning Ballon D’or winner Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio in free transfers, Real Madrid made moves that still make the squad a force to be reckoned with. The historic arrival of Jude Bellingham from Bundesliga club Dortmund gives the club a well-rounded midfielder that only turned 20 years old last month.

And yes, there is still the possibility of Kylian Mbappe leaving PSG for Real Madrid, making Los Blancos an offensive juggernaut in the league.

There is no doubt that the Catalan team is another favourite to win La Liga, with Singapore Pools soccer odds giving them 2.19 odds to win it all. The reigning champions have a remarkable 22/23 campaign, finishing 10 points above Madrid. Robert Lewandowski’s arrival proved invaluable for the club, leading the team’s offensive side and winning the Golden Boot award with 23 goals.

Despite having a much quieter offseason compared to last year, Barca will still parade a formidable lineup that can intimidate other teams in the competition. With new captain Sergi Roberto leading the team, many see Barcelona in a good position to repeat this year and win their 28th La Liga title.

Atletico Madrid

Despite a slow start to their 22/23 season, Atletico put on a solid performance to end their year, allowing them to finish third in the standings, just 1 point behind city rivals Real Madrid. Antoine Griezmann redeemed himself last year after a subpar showing in Barcelona from 2019 to 2021. He led the team in goals last year with 15 and is a player to watch for the Colchoneros next season.

Despite the difficult task ahead, manager Diego Simeone hopes to win his third La Liga title with Atletico, their last being in 2021. As of writing, Atletico Madrid has Singapore soccer odds of 9.50 in winning the title and is a solid pick to win next year.

The Outsiders

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid being the top favourites to win 23/24 La Liga should not be argued, primarily since the winners of the past 19 La Liga seasons revolved around the three clubs. However, some other solid teams in the league might surprise everyone with a Cinderella story and win the title next year.

For starters, Sevilla (27.00 odds) has been considered a top team in La Liga, finishing in 4th place for three consecutive seasons in 2020-2022. And despite a 12th-place finish last year, they still managed to win the Europa League, which is already their 5th since 2013-2014.

In addition, Real Sociedad (42.00 odds) has been a team on the rise since manager Imanol Alguacil took over in 2017. They managed to finish 4th in the league table last year, with only 6 points between them and Atletico. Their solid defence has been the team’s core in recent years, with Mikel Merino, Alex Remiro, and Robin Le Normand leading La Real’s defensive efforts.

With only a few days before the start of the new season, it is crucial that bettors already learn who are the favourites to win the season for them to develop a winning betting strategy. Real Madrid is the clear-cut top pick to win it all, but Barca and Atletico will make it hard for Los Blancos to achieve that goal. But one thing’s sure, the three-way battle at the top, with some other dark horses looking to make a name for themselves, will make the next La Liga season exciting for Singaporean bettors.
